Mobile CCTV towers for Derry and Londonderry sites
Across Cityside, Waterside and the surrounding North West, temporary coverage has to suit very different locations. An urban building compound may need a view over hoarding; a rural entrance may have no convenient supply. We assess the position and connections before selecting the tower.
- Elevated views of entrances and exposed areas
- Recording and remote viewing suited to the site
- Solar, battery or mains options where suitable
- Optional monitoring with an agreed response
Delivery, setup and collection are handled by our team. We check the power, signal and proposed camera views before installation, then explain how to use the system.
Temporary coverage across the North West
Construction and refurbishment sites
For work on either side of the Foyle, the useful camera position can change between groundworks, the main build and fit-out. We plan around the current entrance and compound, with access for deliveries kept clear. A later review can account for new structures that obstruct the original view.
Business parks, yards and industrial units
In yards around Pennyburn, Campsie and Maydown, stacked stock and parked vehicles can hide the very areas that need coverage. We assess gate approaches, loading activity and storage separately. An elevated position is useful only if it provides the required views; a tower is not automatically a substitute for several fixed cameras.
Empty commercial premises
A property awaiting refurbishment may have temporary entrances or unsecured areas outside its existing camera coverage. We can plan a hire around those exposed points and agree who receives information about an activation. That arrangement can change when contractors begin work or a new occupier takes over.
Farms and land on the city fringe
Locations around Eglinton, Newbuildings and Drumahoe can put a gate or machinery yard some distance from the main premises. We check the proposed camera position for power, signal and obstructions. Remote viewing and local recording are specified separately, so a limited connection does not get overlooked in the recommendation.
Events and street closures
A temporary venue may spread beyond its normal camera coverage into service areas or parking. We work from the organiser’s actual footprint, allowing for safe access to the tower during installation and removal. The recording arrangements and any operator involvement are agreed for the event.
Off-grid power and 4G across the North West
Where a North West site has no mains connection, the power assessment is part of selecting the equipment. Solar exposure, battery capacity and the cameras’ use all matter. We explain any charging or supplementary supply needed before the hire is confirmed.
The arrangement also needs to suit the length and season of the project. A position that catches daylight in one layout may become shaded by scaffolding or a new structure later in the build.
We check the mobile connection where the tower will stand, rather than relying on coverage elsewhere on the property. The proposal distinguishes recording on site from viewing or monitoring over that connection.
Tower or fixed cameras? How to decide
A tower suits temporary coverage or a changing site. Fixed cameras can suit completed buildings and yards with a settled layout.
We assess the duration, power and camera views, then explain the suitable options. A project can also move from a tower to a permanent system as the work is completed.
Installation, monitoring and footage handling
Installation includes positioning, camera configuration and checks on the agreed recording and access. The handover explains who can view the images and how to request relevant footage.
NI CCTV Monitoring from Advanced Overwatch can review activations from a compatible system. The monitoring schedule and instructions for the site are confirmed separately.
We can also help with CCTV compliance, including the way neighbouring land and public routes appear in the camera views.
Getting a tower to a Derry address
We cover Derry and Londonderry and enquiries across the North West, including Limavady and Strabane. Equipment availability and the site arrangements determine the installation date. For a rural location, access to the proposed position is checked alongside power and connectivity.

CCTV tower hire: your questions
How quickly can a CCTV tower be on site in Derry and Londonderry?
We establish the address, access and required views before confirming equipment and a date. Cityside, Waterside and outlying sites can present different delivery and connection requirements. An urgent request is assessed against what can actually be arranged.
Can coverage continue as a compound changes position?
A move can be considered as the project progresses. We reassess the ground, camera views and connections at the proposed position, then arrange relocation where suitable. The site team should contact us before moving the tower themselves.
What if a North West site has no mains supply or weak signal?
Power and connectivity need separate assessments. Solar or battery equipment may address the supply requirement, but remote access still needs a suitable connection. We explain the available recording, viewing and monitoring options for that location before recommending the hire.
Can one hire cover separate Cityside and Waterside locations?
Each location needs its own coverage assessment. We can discuss the sites together, but a tower at one property cannot provide a camera view of another disconnected site. The proposal identifies the equipment and access arrangements for each address.
Can cameras avoid overlooking adjoining homes?
We consider the boundary and neighbouring property when choosing the position and camera angles. Where appropriate, privacy settings can form part of the design. Our CCTV compliance support can help document the intended use and access arrangements.
Is a tower the right choice for a permanent Derry yard?
It depends on how long the coverage is needed and whether the layout is settled. Fixed cameras may be a better fit for an established yard; temporary towers can suit a changing compound. We explain the options after assessing the site rather than automatically extending a hire.
