CCTV tower hire in Lisburn, done properly

A CCTV tower is a self-powered camera mast you hire by the week, the month or the length of a build. Advanced Overwatch supplies them across Lisburn and the Castlereagh side of the council area for housing phases, commercial works, compounds, empty premises and event fields. Each unit brings its own power and its own 4G, so nothing has to be cabled in.

Coverage, not a branch. Advanced Overwatch works from a single office, 1st Floor, Beresford House, 2 Beresford Road, Coleraine BT52 1GE. Lisburn is one of the areas we serve across Northern Ireland, not a separate branch office, and any Lisburn contact number reaches the same local team.

How a mobile CCTV tower works

The mast lifts the cameras to a height where they see over fencing, stacked materials and vans. Everything else lives in a locked cabinet at the base: the recorder, the battery and the 4G router. A solar array on top keeps the battery charged, or a mains lead does the same job where a supply already exists.

Motion starts the recording and sends an alert. You watch the cameras from a phone, a tablet or an office machine. When the hire ends the unit is collected and the ground is exactly as it was, which is the part a fixed installation cannot offer.

Sites around Lisburn and Castlereagh where towers are used

Housing developments built in phases

Phased sites open new ground before the last phase is finished, so the compound and the risk both move. A tower is repositioned in an afternoon and carries on recording, which is why it suits developments that run from groundworks through to handover.

Commercial and retail unit works

Fit-outs and refurbishments on trading sites happen around opening hours, with materials left in a compound overnight and the public a few metres away. A mast on the boundary of the working area covers the compound and the approach without any installation work on a building someone else owns.

Compounds, plant and material stores

Plant, fuel, cable and stacked materials are the losses that hurt a programme, and they usually sit in the open. One elevated camera position covers a compound that would otherwise need several fixed cameras and the trenching to reach them.

Land and yards off the main roads

Ground around Blaris, Maghaberry, Ballinderry, Glenavy and Aghalee, and yards on the Castlereagh side towards Carryduff and Drumbo, is spread out and often has no supply at the gate. Solar towers cover a lane end, a shed entrance or a machinery yard without waiting on a connection.

Event fields and overflow car parks

Fields and car parks used for a weekend need coverage for the build, the event and the breakdown, and nothing afterwards. Towers go in for the days they are wanted and leave with everything else.

What the hire includes

  • Delivery, positioning, mast raising, camera aiming and commissioning by our engineers
  • Remote viewing set up before we leave site
  • CCTV signage, so the site meets the notice requirement from the first day
  • Motion alerts to you, or optional connection to a staffed monitoring centre working to BS 8418
  • Retrieval of specific footage on request for police or insurers
  • Collection at the end, with no fixings and no cabling left behind

Hire terms are flexible, weekly, monthly or for the duration of a programme, with no fixed minimum period. Advanced Overwatch is SSAIB certificated (NIRE127) specifically for Intruder Alarm Systems, Visual Surveillance Systems (VSS) and Access Control Systems. Advanced Overwatch holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and ISO 45001. Every hire is quoted as a fixed price after a free survey.

Tower hire or a fixed system for a Lisburn project?

Duration and stability decide it. If the layout is settled and the premises will need cameras long after the current work finishes, a fixed installation is the better spend. If the site is temporary, or its shape changes every few weeks, a tower does the job without paying twice.

A reasonable test: if the coverage has to move more than once, or the site will be gone inside a year, hire. If it is permanent, install. On larger jobs the two are combined, with a tower on the perimeter and fixed cameras going in as the building becomes secure.

Most units here run on solar with battery backup and never see a cable. That is comfortable through the longer half of the year. Through winter the battery does more of the work, so we size it for the season and for the recording hours you need rather than assuming a summer profile, and we give you the reserve figures at handover.

Where the site already has a supply, a cabin board or a metered feed, mains is the simpler answer and the battery becomes a backup.

Connectivity is over 4G. We check the signal at the address first, because a strong signal at the entrance and a poor one at the far corner of a field are both common. The recorder on the unit keeps working regardless of signal.

In most cases a tower can be on site within 24 hours of an order being confirmed, subject to unit availability, and commissioning takes about two to three hours once it arrives. Planned work is worth booking in advance, particularly across the summer when units are committed to construction programmes. CCTV tower hire in Lisburn, your questions

As long as the site needs it. We hire by the week, by the month or for the duration of a programme, and there is no fixed minimum period. Short event hires of a few days are normal, and so are hires that run from groundworks through to practical completion.

Yes, and on a phased site it usually is. The unit is designed to be repositioned, so moving it to follow the work is a short job rather than a re-installation. Agree the likely moves at survey and we will factor them into the quote instead of treating each one as a surprise.

Short term siting on private land generally does not require permission. Longer deployments, or a position that is prominent in a public view, are worth checking with Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council before the unit is delivered. We flag it at survey so it is dealt with in advance.

The unit keeps recording. Footage is written to the recorder in the cabinet, so a poor signal affects the live view and the alerts rather than the record itself. We test the signal at the address before scheduling a delivery, and where it is marginal the mast position, the antenna or the network can usually be changed to fix it.

Yes. Short hires are common for event fields, overflow car parks and temporary venues. The unit is delivered and commissioned before the build starts, covers the event, and is collected afterwards, so there is nothing to decommission and nothing left on the ground.

You get a fixed quote after a free survey. The specification, whether monitoring is included, how many moves are expected and how long the unit stays all change the number, so we price the site rather than publish a rate. Call 028 9099 3566 or book a survey.
