CCTV and Alarm Installation in Cushendall
CCTV, intruder alarms, access control and fire systems for Cushendall homes, holiday lets, bars and yards, planned around steep ground, mature trees and the weather coming off Red Bay.
Reading Cushendall's figures in a small glens village
Cushendall is quiet for much of the year and then busy, with visitors moving along the coast road and up the glens through the season. A good deal of property here is used for part of the year and shut for the rest, and that pattern shapes risk far more than any figure does. An empty cottage in February is a different proposition from the same cottage in July.
For a house or a let standing empty, the question is how you would ever come to hear about something, so the answer is detection that reaches your phone and cameras placed where a person has to pass. For bars and shops around Mill Street, the cover that pays is the entrance, the till, the store and the yard. Either way the glen decides the detail: trees, walls and rising ground block views, so where a camera goes matters more than what is printed on the box.

Cushendall sits where Glenaan, Glenballyemon and Glencorp come down to Red Bay, and the lie of the land decides most of what we do here. Sightlines break on banks, hedges and mature trees, so a property that would take three cameras on flat ground often wants four or five chosen positions instead. We walk the site and the approach before quoting, and we would sooner add a mounting position than hang a higher specification camera somewhere it cannot see past a wall.
The property mix runs from self-catering cottages, guest houses and caravan and camping sites to village bars and shops, boats and trailers, and houses up the glen roads with a long approach. Lets change hands weekly through the season, so keypad entry and codes you can alter from your phone save a lot of driving. Anything near the shore brings its own problem: salt, wind and gear left outside, which makes housings, fixings and cable entries count as much as the camera itself.
What we install in Cushendall
CCTV installation
Camera systems for cottages, bars, yards and boat stores, viewable on your phone. In the glens the work is in the positions: we look for angles that take in the gate, the door and the parking without a tree or a bank in the way, and we plan for low light along the shore and under heavy cover.

Intruder alarms
Wireless intruder alarms suit the thick walled stone houses common here, and they extend to a shed, a garage or a let annexe without fresh cabling. The system is set up so a let can be armed between guests and so you can see the state of the property from home instead of driving the coast road to check it.

Access control and door entry
Keypad, fob and app controlled entry for self-catering property, bars, site gates and stores. A booking code can begin and end with the stay, a cleaner or barman can be given access only on their own days, and nothing needs re-keying when somebody moves on. Door entry suits flats above village premises.

Fire alarms and emergency lighting
Fire alarm systems and emergency lighting for guest accommodation, bars, shops and holiday cottages around Cushendall, with detection and lit escape routes designed for buildings where people sleep who do not know the layout. Testing is routine and recorded, so you hold the evidence as well as the working system.

Monitoring and maintenance
CCTV can be monitored through 24-hour NI CCTV Monitoring from Advanced Overwatch, and intruder and fire alarm monitoring is provided through our monitoring partner’s NSI Gold certified Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC).
We maintain what we install on a planned schedule and can adopt a system another installer left behind. Exposure is the deciding factor out here: wind off Red Bay, salt, and growth that quietly fills a camera view over a summer. Visits take in alignment, seals, and a look at anything that has grown across the shot.

CCTV and alarms in Cushendall, your questions answered
Will trees and steep ground stop CCTV working in Cushendall?
No, but they decide where it goes. On glen sites we tend to use more mounting positions and shorter viewing distances rather than one long range camera that a bank or a hedge will block. Each position is checked on site, in daylight and after dark, and we show you the actual view before anything is fixed in place.
How do I keep an eye on a Cushendall holiday cottage?
With an app based system. You can arm and disarm it between bookings, confirm the doors were secured, and get an alert if something is detected while the place is empty. Cameras take in the entrance, the parking and the back of the house rather than the inside of the let, and a keypad code can be issued for each stay.
Can you secure a caravan park or camping site?
Yes. Site work usually means cameras at the entrance and along the main route through, lighting that supports them, detection on reception, the shop and the shower block, and gate control so the place can be closed overnight. Equipment has to survive wind and salt here, so housings and fixings are chosen for the exposure.
Can you protect boats and trailers in a Cushendall yard?
Yes. Boats, engines and trailers sit out in the open, so detection on the compound line and cameras over the gate and the hardstanding achieve more than anything fitted to a building. We add a camera positioned to capture a plate at the entrance, and zone the system so the yard can be armed while a workshop is still in use.
Do you cover the glens villages beyond Cushendall?
Yes. Waterfoot, Glenariff, Cushendun, Knocknacarry, Carnlough and Glenarm are all on the coast road run, along with the houses and farms up the glen roads behind them. We come out from Coleraine, so a trip into the glens is planned to take in more than one property where that suits everybody.
