Reading Newtownabbey’s crime pattern through a camera
The figures below reward a breakdown by type. Across BT36 and BT37 anti-social behaviour and violent crime lead, but the number that stands out for a residential area is criminal damage, which sits higher in the mix than in most towns we cover, while burglary is comparatively low.
Criminal damage and anti-social behaviour are camera offences before they are alarm offences, a break-in alarm does nothing for a vandalised frontage or a damaged car, but a visible, well-placed camera deters both and records evidential-quality footage for a report to police or an insurer. For the estates that points to coverage of the approach, driveway, entry points and any shared access; for the retail parks it points to entrances, tills and service yards. We position cameras to that pattern rather than a template.

CCTV for Newtownabbey homes, retail and business parks
For the commuter estates, Rathcoole, Monkstown, Glengormley, Carnmoney, we design home CCTV around the approach, driveway, front and rear entry points and any shared or vulnerable access, with motion alerts to your phone and camera counts sized to the property rather than a fixed package. Given the local criminal-damage figure, we often prioritise a visible deterrent camera over the frontage and any parking.
For retail around the Abbeycentre and the Longwood and Cloughfern retail parks the design shifts to loss prevention and staff safety, entrances, tills, aisles and service yards, with evidential-quality footage. Business-park units around Valley Business Park and Mallusk get perimeter, yard and access-point coverage. Advanced Overwatch is SSAIB certificated (NIRE127) specifically for Intruder Alarm Systems, Visual Surveillance Systems (VSS) and Access Control Systems. A retail or business unit can run cameras and door entry as one integrated system. We confirm the design at survey.
Covering Newtownabbey and the greater-Belfast fringe
We install and maintain CCTV across Newtownabbey and the wider Antrim and Newtownabbey area, from homes in Glengormley to units at Mallusk. That run takes in Glengormley, Mallusk, Carrickfergus and the greater-Belfast fringe. We arrange surveys as the route allows rather than quote a timed response we cannot guarantee.

CCTV in Newtownabbey, your questions answered
Do you install CCTV for the commuter estates around Newtownabbey?
Yes. Newtownabbey is largely suburban Belfast-metro housing, from Rathcoole and Monkstown to Glengormley and Carnmoney. For these estates we design home CCTV around the approach, driveway, front and rear entry points and any shared or vulnerable access, with motion alerts to your phone. Camera count is sized to the property rather than a fixed package.
Do you cover retail security at the Abbeycentre and nearby retail parks?
Yes. For retail around the Abbeycentre and the Longwood and Cloughfern retail parks we design CCTV for loss-prevention and staff safety, covering entrances, tills, aisles and service yards, with evidential-quality footage. We survey the unit first and can integrate CCTV with access control. Advanced Overwatch is SSAIB certificated (NIRE127) specifically for Intruder Alarm Systems, Visual Surveillance Systems (VSS) and Access Control Systems.
Newtownabbey’s figures show a lot of criminal damage, is CCTV the right tool?
For criminal damage and anti-social behaviour, yes, more so than an alarm. Those offences sit high in the local mix and a break-in alarm does nothing for a vandalised frontage or a damaged vehicle, whereas a visible, well-placed camera both deters them and records evidential-quality footage. We often prioritise a deterrent camera over the frontage and parking in the estates.
Can you cover shared or communal access on a Newtownabbey estate?
Yes. Where a property has shared driveways, entries or parking we position cameras to cover that vulnerable access as well as the home’s own entry points, and can tie CCTV to access control at a communal door. We confirm what the site allows at survey. Advanced Overwatch is SSAIB certificated (NIRE127) specifically for Intruder Alarm Systems, Visual Surveillance Systems (VSS) and Access Control Systems.
