Find out what happened

Recording and playback set up for reviewing incidents, with storage matched to the agreed retention period.

From a house to a busy commercial site, the survey brings the camera views, lighting and recording requirements together.

The right equipment, selected for you

A new installation, an upgrade or a temporary site each needs a different approach. We explain the options in your proposal, including remote access, storage and any ongoing services.

Camera and recording options

New systems and existing cabling

IP cameras support networked recording and viewing. Compatible HD analogue equipment may reuse suitable coaxial cabling. We check the existing installation before recommending an upgrade.

Clear detail, day and night

Resolution is one part of the design. Lens choice, camera position, lighting, movement and recording settings all affect what the footage shows.

Specialist coverage

Thermal imaging, number-plate recognition and video analytics can address particular site requirements. We confirm the equipment, conditions and supported functions.

Temporary sites

Power, connectivity and mounting are planned for the location. Explore temporary CCTV systems.

Surveyed. Installed. Explained.

One team takes your system from the first survey through to installation and handover, with maintenance available afterwards.

A clear proposal

We survey the premises and set out the equipment, installation and services in a written quotation.

Professional installation

We fit and configure the system, then check the views, recording and agreed connections.

Confident day-to-day use

We demonstrate viewing, playback and clip export, and explain the available maintenance and support.

CCTV installation, your questions

Advanced Overwatch designs, installs and maintains CCTV across Northern Ireland. We install systems for homes, businesses and public sector premises, with a free survey and written quotation.

The quotation depends on the camera views, cabling, recorder, storage and any monitoring or maintenance. We survey the property and provide a written, no-obligation quotation for the agreed work, rather than a fixed camera package.

Fixed cameras keep a consistent view of an entrance or working area. PTZ cameras can move and zoom to follow activity, but cannot show every direction at once. We recommend the combination that suits the site, lighting and use of the system.

The agreement should set out scheduled visits, equipment checks, support arrangements and what is included or chargeable. Remote health checks, firmware work, replacement parts and call-outs depend on the selected service. We confirm the scope and response arrangements in writing.

IP cameras send video over a network. HD analogue systems use compatible coaxial cabling and recording equipment. We usually assess IP equipment for a new installation and check whether existing cabling can be reused for an upgrade. Capacity, remote access and supported features depend on the selected system.

We select resolution together with the lens, distance, lighting and recording settings. More pixels alone do not guarantee a useful face or number-plate image. The survey establishes the detail required at each camera position and the storage needed for it.

Yes, with compatible equipment, authorised access and a working internet or mobile connection. We configure the agreed viewing app and demonstrate live viewing, playback and supported functions at handover. Remote access does not include a monitored response unless that service is agreed separately.

There is no reliable camera count without looking at the premises. Entrances, activity areas, obstacles and the detail needed in each view determine the design. Our free survey establishes the coverage before we recommend the equipment.

The programme depends on access, cable routes, camera locations and the work involved. We confirm the expected installation arrangements in your proposal and plan the work around the use of the premises.

Planning requirements depend on the property and proposed installation. Listed buildings, conservation areas, mounting structures and property restrictions can need particular attention. We discuss the installation at the survey; the relevant council can confirm planning requirements. Recording beyond a boundary also raises separate data protection duties.

Some domestic systems are designed for self-installation. Professional installation brings the camera views, lighting, recording, cabling and handover together around your property. We also consider privacy and access to footage when designing the system.

Many wired network cameras receive power and video over a suitable Ethernet cable. If the installation needs a new mains socket, fused spur or other electrical work, that needs an appropriately competent installer. We identify any additional work during the survey.
