Abloy
Three distinct roles. One focused Abloy offering.
Our Abloy focus is SMARTair, EDS and Primo. We specify the appropriate products for the job.
Abloy solution
for your doors.
Wireless access
SMARTair
Electronic door locking, with card, fob or mobile options according to the selected configuration.
Escape Door System
EDS
Controlled escape-door solutions specified around the door, escape strategy and approved system components.
Access-management software
Primo
Central administration of access permissions, users and devices, with interfaces confirmed for your project.
Escape-door locking and release must be assessed against the building’s fire and escape arrangements. Product selection alone does not establish compliance.
iLOQ
The full iLOQ range, built around your site.
From digital keys and phone keys to locks, readers and access management. We help you select and support the right iLOQ configuration.
Digital keys

Access management
Manage people and permissions
Battery-free locking options are part of the range. Management, update routes, connectivity and power requirements depend on the equipment selected.

Gyms and leisure / ClubRight
Let membership
guide access.
Connect ClubRight membership management with a supported Paxton Net2 installation, so the agreed membership rules can govern entry.
- Membership-led permissions. Agree who may enter and at what times.
- Paxton Net2 connection. The Welcome Screen runs on a suitable Windows PC at the club.
- Hardware matched to the entrance. Reader, door or barrier arrangements are checked during the survey.
We plan the physical access installation and confirm the software setup with ClubRight.

Connected security
Decide what happens
at the door.
Useful integration starts with a clear action: view a door event, flag a held-open door or pass an agreed signal to the alarm.
- CCTV. Link relevant video and access events where the selected platform supports it.
- Ajax alarm integration. We can integrate suitable access-control equipment with an Ajax alarm through a specified, tested interface.
- Escape arrangements. Assess release, power-loss behaviour and emergency operation for each door.
We confirm compatibility and test the agreed operation before handover.
- Who can enter?
- Users & credentials
- When?
- Times & permissions
- What should connect?
- CCTV & alarm interfaces
- How do people exit?
- Escape & emergency operation
Ajax is an alarm integration option. We do not supply an Ajax access-control range.

Who provides access control installation in Northern Ireland?
Advanced Overwatch designs, installs and maintains access control across Northern Ireland. Our offering includes the full iLOQ range, Abloy SMARTair, EDS and Primo, plus Paxton, Dahua, Hikvision, Avigilon and Hanwha. ClubRight can form part of a supported gym access setup.
What is meant by access control?
Access control manages who may enter or leave an area, when and under what conditions. Systems may use cards, fobs, PINs, digital keys or compatible phones. Access logs, remote changes and reporting depend on the selected hardware, software and configuration.
What are three types of access control?
For a building project, three useful approaches to discuss are standalone door control, centrally managed networked access, and wireless or digital locking. These categories can overlap. We explain how users, permissions, updates and records will work in the proposed system, rather than relying on a category name.
What are the five steps of access control?
Access control is usually described in five steps. Identification: a person presents a card, fob, PIN or phone. Authentication: the system checks the credential is genuine. Authorisation: it checks that person may use that door at that time. Access: the door releases. Audit: every event is logged so you can review who went where and when.
What is the best access control system for a small business?
The best system is the one that suits your doors, people and working routine. A single controlled entrance may need a different approach from several buildings. We review existing locks and cabling, credential choices, administration, emergency release and future expansion during a free survey. A particular brand is not automatically the best choice for every small business.
Can access control integrate with fire door release, and what's the difference between fail-safe and fail-secure locks?
Access control can be designed with suitable emergency release and fire-alarm interfaces. Fail-safe describes a lock that releases when power is lost; fail-secure describes one that remains secure from the controlled side. Fail-secure hardware may still provide mechanical free egress. The complete door assembly, escape hardware and fire strategy determine what is appropriate. Abloy EDS uses specified system components for controlled escape doors. We assess the arrangement for the building rather than treating a lock label as proof of compliance.
What should I look for when choosing an access control installer in Northern Ireland?
Look for independently checked installation standards, a clear system specification, documented integration and support arrangements, and practical training. Ask who will manage credentials, licences, updates and fault response. Discuss access-log retention and administrator permissions.
What is the difference between standalone and networked access control?
Standalone control typically manages a door locally. Networked systems connect doors to central administration, which may be on site or cloud based. Wireless and offline digital systems can use other routes to update credentials and collect events. Remote changes, reporting and the time it takes to withdraw a credential depend on the system and its connectivity.
Can access control integrate with CCTV and intruder alarms?
Yes, where compatible equipment and supported interfaces are specified. A design may link door events to CCTV or pass agreed signals between access control and an intruder alarm. We can integrate suitable access-control equipment with an Ajax alarm, but we do not offer an Ajax access-control range. Each interface and action is confirmed and tested for the installed system.
How much does access control installation cost for a business in Northern Ireland?
We provide a project-specific quotation after reviewing the doors, hardware, cabling, users and management requirements. The proposal should identify installation, software or licence requirements, any subscriptions and the agreed support arrangements. Request a free survey for an accurate specification and quotation.
Is access control covered under SSAIB certification?
Yes. Advanced Overwatch is SSAIB certificated (NIRE127) specifically for Intruder Alarm Systems, Visual Surveillance Systems (VSS) and Access Control Systems.
Can visitors and contractors get temporary access credentials for my business?
Yes, on a suitable system. Visitor or contractor credentials can be limited to agreed doors and times, with expiry or withdrawal configured according to the platform. We confirm how permissions reach the door, including any offline update process, and explain credential return, deactivation and record retention during handover.
