CCTV Video Redaction in Northern Ireland

Get CCTV footage ready for disclosure without taking on the editing yourself. Our in-house team obscures faces, number plates and other identifying details for businesses and public sector organisations.

No footage needed to make an enquiry.

We take care of the editing

Less work for your team

Our team handles the masking, so you do not need to learn editing software or take staff away from their day job.

Keep the relevant footage

Faces, number plates, screens and other identifying details can be obscured while retaining the footage needed for the request.

Your original stays intact

We work on a copy and return a separate redacted file. You retain the original recording.

From request to redacted copy

  1. We confirm what is needed

A short description and any deadline are enough to start. We confirm the file format, footage length and redaction required, then agree a quotation and completion date.

  2. We arrange the handover

We provide a secure portal link for uploads, or arrange a visit to extract and prepare the footage. We agree handling arrangements before transfer.

  3. You receive a separate copy

We return the finished file for your organisation to review before disclosure, with the agreed identifying details obscured.

The enquiry form is for job details. We will arrange the transfer of footage separately.

IN-HOUSE SERVICE

Support for the requests on your desk

Subject access requests, internal investigations and insurance matters can all involve footage that needs careful preparation.

Your footage is handled by our own team, with access restricted to those working on your job. We agree transfer, delivery and retention arrangements as part of the work.

You do not need to have bought your CCTV system from us. We confirm that we can work with your exported files before accepting the job.

Company credentials

CCTV video redaction questions

Yes, you do not need to be an existing Advanced Overwatch customer. We work with CCTV, ANPR, body-worn video and drone recordings. We confirm the exported file format and any specialist playback requirements before accepting the work.

Faces, vehicle number plates, identifying clothing, tattoos, house numbers, documents and screens can be masked, blurred or pixelated. The details to obscure are agreed for the particular request.

The quotation depends on the footage length, the number of views and the amount of detail to obscure. We confirm the scope and cost before work starts. You can request a quotation without sending footage through the enquiry form.

We agree a completion date after checking the scope and complexity of the footage. If you have a deadline, include it in your enquiry and we will confirm whether we can meet it before you commit.

Start with an enquiry describing the job. We normally provide a secure portal link for the footage, or can arrange a service visit to extract and prepare it. We agree transfer, access, delivery and retention arrangements before any files are sent. The website enquiry form is for job details and does not accept footage uploads.

No. The need for redaction depends on the purpose of disclosure and the rights of the people shown. Your organisation remains responsible for deciding what can be shared. A police request may require an unredacted original, so the recipient’s requirements should be confirmed before any editing. See the ICO guidance on disclosing surveillance footage.

The requirements depend on the recipient and proceedings. Keep the original recording and confirm the requested format and documentation with the police, insurer or legal adviser. We can discuss the redaction work needed for that request; redaction alone does not guarantee that evidence will be accepted.

Yes. We can prepare a redacted copy where other people’s identifying details need to be obscured. Your organisation remains responsible for the response and its deadline. We confirm our completion date for the job rather than promising every request can be completed within the statutory period. The ICO subject access guidance explains the current requirements.
